Digg, Reddit and StumbleUpon Interrelationship & Some Interrelationship Etiquette for Users

Social Media has become mainstream these days. The users are becoming more smarter and more conscious about their presence on the social media sites. So, you can always find a same user on many social media and networking sites. The success of social media has changed the scenario of the Internet Marketing today. Many of the Internet Marketers are trying to establish their presence on various social media sites. So, they make profiles on the various social media sites to get respect and fame.

But, there are only some users who use all of the social media sites actively and effectively. Here I am going to talk about the relationship of the top three social media sites I use; Digg, Reddit and StumbleUpon. In most of the cases the popular contents are same on all of the three.

So, in most of the cases news are driven to StumbleUpon from Digg and Reddit.

And the images and other cool stuffs are driven to Digg and Reddit from StumbleUpon. Here, I would also like to say that from few days I’m watching that images and cool stuffs that are submitted to Reddit and StumbleUpon are driven from each of the social media sites. Meaning, some of the stuffs are driven to Reddit from StumbleUpon and vice versa.

In case of Digg, images and the cool stuffs are driven to digg from Reddit and StumbleUpon, if we except some of the content which are asked to submit by some users on these sites. (All the content flow is for those content which become popular on all the three sites)

Why Most Of the Reddit Popular Stories Become Popular on Digg Easily and Only Some of the Digg Popular Stories Got Hot on Reddit??

Reddit is a real social media but Digg is a mix of social media and networking, this is the reason that most of the Reddit popular stories hit FP of Digg. Here I am explaining that what actually happens? When any story goes popular on Reddit that’s because it’s worth it because you don’t know who is up voting the story and who is down voting it. So, here networking fails! If the content is good then it will surely go popular on Reddit, because you can not network and get 1000s of up votes on Reddit. Even if you have managed to get a story on front page, and the story is not good enough, people down vote the story and it will be put out from the Reddit’s front page within few hours.

So, those stories which are popular on Reddit when they are submitted on Digg, get natural votes plus friendly votes (these type of votes are only accumulated by networking, because you digg their stuffs so they digg yours). So, there is more chances of it hitting the front page of Digg.

When we talk about Digg’s popular stories which go to Reddit, then there are less chance for that story to become popular on Reddit. I have already told that Digg is mix of social media and networking. On Digg the stories are voted by the friends no one knows if that story is good because the friends usually don’t read the submissions of their friends. So, only some of the stories do well on Reddit that are submitted from Digg.

Some Etiquette For The Users of These Three Social Media Sites

There are many good users who are doing well on all these three social media sites. They share good content and make us more knowledgeable with their contributions. I appreciate them, and here I am sharing their secrets which make them different from other users. Please use these social media etiquette because these are followed by the top users.

1. Like Things Globally:

If you like something then it can not be changed with the place. So, if you come across any content on any social media site and you liked it then it means that whenever you’ll see that content you will like it there as well.

For example if you have seen an article on Reddit and voted it up means you liked that article. If that article is submitted on Digg then you’ll probably digg that article too because content is same only platform is changed. Discover that article on Stumble or thumb up that article if already submitted.

Friends are friends always, anywhere and at any place. So, people who are your friends on Digg if you find them on Reddit or on StumbleUpon you must show appreciation to them and also add them in your profile and don’t forget to message them about it.

Suppose you are using two social sites and if you are good on both the social sites then you should add that user who is your friend from first social site even he/she is not doing well on second social site. Because, If any user is doing well on one social media site and not so well on the other, then it doesn’t mean that he/she can not make good profile on the other. If you add them and people will see the good users like you in his/her profile then they will also get attention there. This will grow your network and also help you because, you will get a good follower in your network.
