Google’s New “Explore Google Search”

Google has always been providing the users with a variety of services. But they never self advertised because there was no need to prove to the people that they are the best. So many of these services went unnoticed by the masses. Though Bing basically gave the same range of services they provided a detailed demonstration as to how the search engine works. It looks like the users are actually going crazy seeing these benefits they had overlooked in Google.

Google has now started its fight against Bing by putting forward the new “Explore Google Search” page. Google always had help pages like this, but now they are giving access to the page right from the home page. The link called “Discovering the Web” will take you to the new page which gives you an organized view of a variety of services.

The page shows many Google features in an easy to read and use manner. The page starts with the following note:

Search is at the heart of everything we do at Google. Our engineers work every day to solve the hardest search problems, and thus improve your online experience. Here’s a glimpse at what they do, the features they’ve built and the remarkable user stories that inspire our work.

After the note the links to the various options like weather, movie times, calculator, dictionary, currency conversion etc is given.

As told earlier Google actually has no need to advertise. And the new page does not cover even a small portion of the range of services provided by Google. But it has to step up when Bing is getting the attention of masses by doing the same. The new ‘Explore Google Search’ page is a way to do that. This will show the people that Google can actually give them much more than they actually thought it can.
