Microsoft Releases PDF About Search Engine Optimization

Microsoft has now published a Search engine optimization in the name ‘Bing: New Features Relevant to Webmasters’. Just a while earlier the company had released the ‘IIS Search Engine Optimization Toolkit‘. The SEO PDF gives an idea about the user interface changes related with the launch of Bing, its impact on site owners and search engine optimization.

The first thing the PDF talks about is the difference between Bing and Live Search that affects the webmasters. After the first five search results, the rest of the results come categorized. That is for example if you give a search ‘vw beetle’, the results form 6 to 8 will be for ‘volkswagon beetle for sale’ and the results 9 to 12 are about ‘used volkswagon beetle’.

Microsoft is also doing ‘limited data extraction’ from Flash-based sites to generate description for those sits to put in the index. ‘Local listings’ is an additional feature in Bing. It will help the webmaster to feature his website more effectively.
