Yahoo in big trouble reports the Wall Street Journal as they would lose around 15% of the search traffic which is estimated to happen in around 12 to 18 months from now. This is mainly due to the agreement loss which happened with two of the computer makers.
According to the reports, it has been found that the major companies have shifted from Yahoo to other search engines as their major toolbar. HP has switched over to Live Search as their default tool bar and according WSJ it has been reported that Acer has also switched over from Yahoo to Google as their primary search engine.
Yahoo is not very happy present situation as it might lead to a great loss for them and also a downfall in the over search traffic which they have build up in the past years. These distribution deals were backing up yahoo for many years now. Now there is also news telling about the stocks of it coming down and also the revenue to be flat. Works are being done to reorganize the company by the new CEO who is in charge, Carol Bartz and many employees have been reported to leave where as the others to be laid off. Apart from this, the new talk of the town is that of the Yahoo-Microsoft joining hands. The truth of this news is not yet apparent or clear as there are still rumors coming up in the air.
Yes of course there won’t be a sudden break down due to the loss of toolbar deals as it would take another 1 year to show up. For this, yahoo will have to manage all the friends and deals to manage everything back to the old position.
