Blogging is ascending and becoming popular these days. It is general issue that most of the articles on blogger relations only focus on tendency to treat bloggers like traditional media, and also a focus on tactical pitches or initiatives. It is not a right approach, also a due to the bad media relations trend where hits matter more than relationships.
Blogs are becoming more important sources of information and competition for bloggers time and attention against mainstream media. So it is very important thing to make a healthy relationship between the bloggers.
I am starting here with the comment of Steve Rubel of Micro Persuasion.com who provided some useful comments on a recent pitch he received from a PR person acting on behalf of a software company.
When pitching a blogger, however, the stakes are much higher. Someone can easily cut, copy and paste your email into a blog post and put it up on the Web lickity split - like I just did. Although not everyone will be as nice as I was in cloaking the identity of a pitch’s author. The lesson here is that the rules of engaging citizen journalists are in some ways similar to working with the pros, yet vastly different.
Well friends I am starting with defining the blogger relationship and then I will discuss some principles here to make a good healthy relationship between bloggers.
Blogger relationship is the relationship between people, customers involved which are influenced by blogging in any specific industry. Bloggers relationship is build in relative industry bloggers, An industry falls in a community of the peoples which has target to a common purpose so a better relationship may be formed. As example the blogger of search marketing may make a better relationship to the blogger involved in same community, If he wants to make relation with stock market blogger then he can not survive it for long time. Related communities may also establish better relationships as search marketing, internet marketing, link building, social media bloggers may form better relationship between them.
1. Know the art of relationship:
If you have better knowledge about industry then you will definitely make better relation to others. But here only knowledge not counts, for making more strong relationship to others you must to be transparent, honest, and trustworthy, and do not treat your fellow blogger as your competitor.
You have not the “right” to pitch bloggers, so really think about it before you approach any blogger. Read his blog, analyze it’s relevancy, collect other involvement of blogger, Know his social presence. Then go for pitch him. No one likes to sold “to” or marketed “at”; each person needs to hear things differently, so think about that.
When you go for conversation to others then it is expected that you from PR field. So, you must have good PR skills. You must know what to talk, how to talk and how to manage impression. This is about doing PR in the Long Tail so that you can develop more meaningful relationships that have a more significant impact on the brand, business, and customers service (the perennial Quality vs. Quantity question). Change your thinking about about PR in terms of pitches and audience. Pitches and audience is dead now.

3. Social tools are best way to contact bloggers:
Prefer the mode of contact that blogger wants. It may not be contacting him/her by email, prefer social his/her social profiles to contact them as Facebook, Yahoo Mash, LinkedIn. It will show them that they are popular in social places and they will also able to see your social profile on these social media sites. They will be much familiar to you by this way than contacting by email.
