SEO questionOne of the things which we’re experimenting over here at SEO MegaCorp News Blog is starting a SEO questions section. I keep getting questions in SEO through emails, instant messenger and via phone. Today I’m replying to a question asked by Mr. Ravi Ranjan Singh about country specific SEO.

Q. How can I rank my site in my country?
A. Getting ranked in a country domain requires the following things.

1. Physical Address: Putting a physical address on your site will help search engines know where you live and give preference on that domain (like www.google.co.in/search?q=seo+expert).

2. Using Google Maps: Address and listing it on Google Maps. Put your site on Google maps, this specifies your location.

3. Country Specific TLD: Get a country specific TLD. Like get an Indian domain name .in if you want to rank better on www.google.co.in

4. Country Specific Hosting: Try to find out where your server is located and if it’s not located in your own country, try to get hosting from there. Like get a hosting from India to do good on www.google.co.in

5. Country Specific Links: Try to get links from other sites with the country specific TLD. Preferably from within your field!

I invite you to share your thoughts on this.
